This medication works by restoring the balance of serotonin, a natural substance in the brain, which helps to improve certain mood problems. Paroxetine Hydrochloride is indicated for the treatment of depression, certain types of anxiety and other nervous system disorders such as major depressive disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), panic disorder, posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), generalized anxiety disorder (GAD) or social anxiety disorder (SAD). It was proven in clinical trials that Paroxetine is both safe and effective with fewer side effects than other types of antidepressant medications.
